Product Description
BMW began as an airplane engine manufacturer before World War I. With the Armistice, the Treaty of Versailles banned any German air force and thus need for aero engines, so the company turned first to making air brakes, agricultural machinery, toolboxes and office furniture. Dissatisfied with that they eventually turned to manufacturing motorcycles. 1923 saw the arrival of a complete motorcycle under the BMW name, the R32. BMW is a major manufacturer of regular commercial, leisure and emergency services motorcycles. It is also a major player in the sporting and luxury ends of the automotive market place.
Their first notable motorcycle, the "R32" came in 1923. These had a "boxer twin" engine, in which an air-cooled cylinder protrudes into the air-fllow from each side of the machine. Other than a few post-war singles (basically to the same pattern), all their motorcycles had used this distinctive, unusual (but well-regarded) layout until the early 1980s. Many BMWs are still produced to this pattern, which is designated the "R series".
In the early 1990s, BMW updated the airhead boxer engine which became known as the Oilhead. More powerful variants of the oilhead and hexhead engines are available in the R1100S and R1200S, producing 98 hp and 122 hp, respectively.
The model is rigged for animation, and the product features four detailed and textured resolutions of the model.
This model is a 3DMax model, saved in version 8 as a MAX file, and requires 3DMax. It does not include any other formats to allow it to be opened in any other software. The model is rigged where appropriate, and mapped and textured.
