The Beechcraft Bonanza is a general aviation aircraft introduced in 1947 by The Beech Aircraft Corporation. As of 2007 it is still being produced by the Beechcraft Division of Raytheon Aircraft. More than 17,000 Bonanzas have been built.
A series of fatal accidents caused many to suspect flaws in the V-tail structural design. On February 3, 1959, Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens and The Big Bopper died when their Beechcraft B35 Bonanza crashed during takeoff in the middle of a snowstorm. On February 7, 1981, Apple Computer co-founder Steve Wozniak crashed his turbocharged A36TC Bonanza on takeoff from Santa Cruz Sky Park. NTSB investigation found that he was not endorsed to fly high performance aircraft. On March 19, 1982, Ozzy Osbourne guitarist Randy Rhoads was killed while flying in a Beechcraft Bonanza with pilot Andrew Aycock and band mate Rachel Youngblood.
In general aviation circles, the epithet "fork-tailed doctor killer" became a familiar denigration of the V-tail model. The phrase plays on Luftwaffe references to the Lockheed P-38 Lightning as the "fork-tailed devil," but it mainly derides physicians` perceived lack of piloting experience (due to little spare time available) and a tendency to buy expensive high-performance planes that are a poor fit for inexperienced pilots. Many model 35 Bonanzas are still flying, and they command a premium price on the used aircraft market. A V-tail Bonanza that is in compliance with all of the pertinent Airworthiness Directives is a safe aircraft which is coveted by pilots worldwide for its performance, handling, speed and comfort.
The model is rigged for animation, and the product contains four detailed and textured resolutions of the model.
This model is a 3DMax model, saved in version 8 as a MAX file, and requires 3DMax. It does not include any other formats to allow it to be opened in any other software. The model is rigged where appropriate, and mapped and textured.
