Product Description This is the main shuttle bay of the NST Catalan. Originally built for the series Star Quest, this set originally wasn`t included in the pilot episode. However, the set designers knew that if the set wasn`t built for the pilot episode, it probably wouldn`t get built at all. Although there was a full episode planned for the set, the designers realized they had to include its construction in the series` budget rather than in the episode`s budget. To solve this, the writers created a "pick up" scene, which was later cut when the series was syndicated. (The scene wasn`t really missed- it was simply the chief engineer responding to a call from the bridge.) By the time episode #5 of series, "Trapped", began filming, the set was ready to go... and it`s a good thing, since the episode focuses on the crew defending the Catalan from the shuttle bay. This is a two-story set, scaled to the size of the Poser figures. The shuttle bay`s lift door is designed to fit around the Earth Shuttle (available separately). The upper walkway allows for easy visibility of the incoming shuttlecraft. Two rear doors allow the crew members access to the rest of the ship. No hallways are included: you`ll have to position your own hallways behind any open doors. Three consoles allow the crew members to operate various functions of the Shuttle Bay, including raising the main hangar door, leading the shuttle craft into position, and lowering the main lift. The exterior is a scaled and cut version of the NST Catalan model. Note: all of these are figure files, which means they`ll accept any MAT poses you wish to make. Mix and match these objects to suit the needs of your scene. A pre-made Poser scene file (pz3) is also included, with all the figures parented to the Shuttle Bay. This makes it easy to quickly get started rendering your scenes. Shuttle Bay: (7210 polygons) -Upper rear doors -Lower rear doors -Main hangar door -Center bay/ lift door -The exterior materials (Hull and MainFuselage) exactly matches the mapping as the NST Catalan model. In fact, you can even apply the textures for the NST Catalan`s materials to the exterior of this model! -This means that you can create scenes (images or animations) of a shuttlecraft flying into the open shuttle bay... and actually see the shuttle bay interior in your scene. Console: (528 polygons) Floodlights: (475 polygons) Signage: (1 polygon) Shuttle Bay: -Red -Blue -"Off" Cameras presets are included to view the Shuttle Bay from various angles. The camera files also hide any walls which may block the camera`s view. Use these to render your own images or use them as a starting point to position your camera angle. Templates are included for all models and all materials. Shuttle Bay, Console, and Floodlights: Signage: Instructions are included to make your own signage. From the graphic novel, Beyond the Farthest Star, this is the shuttle bay where the shuttle first brings Jill when she arrives on the NST Catalan. ![]() This item is available for sale at Renderosity.
