VGF-14 D Wildcat (for Poser)
The wreck of an alien spacecraft and the discovery of the Solinoid threat in the early 90`s led to the formation the Unified Military under United Nations control. After analysing the Solinoid wreck, the UN announced a request for a new fighter combining alien technology with existing aircraft designs. Numerous companies submitted proposals, and eventually Earth Avionics won the competition with their concept, based on the conventional VT-1 Supercat (Vectored Thrust Fighter) an extension of the Tomcat family of aircraft.
Development began in 2001 from the remains of the crashed Solinoid craft and the VGF-14 A-Type took its maiden flight in late 2004. The Wildcat was quickly adopted for Fleet use due to growing concern of invasion by Solinoid Forces and increasing civil unrest at home. By mid-2006, the Wildcat had already begun replacing conventional aircraft in front-line service units. Since 2010, the Wildcat has been the mainstay of UN Military forces world-wide.
In 2012 the Wildcat was updated with improved avionics and additional defensive armaments creating the VGF-14 D-Type. Intended to extend the Wildcat`s in-combat service life, many older Wildcats were pulled from service to receive the D-Type upgrade package.
With escalating intrusion of local Earth space by the Solinoids, the Wildcat was once again upgraded in 2015, bringing the VGF-14 S-Type into Fleet service. It was also decided at this time to add a LEO Booster Armour Pack system to the Wildcat, to allow it some form of enhanced combat capability at the limits of Earth`s atmosphere.
Initially started in 2013 as a further VGF-14 update package, the YF-35 Warthog development program began life on a heavily modified VGF-14 air-frame. Intended as an enhanced Air and Space Superiority Fighter, the Warthog Development team quickly realised that it would not be possible to fit the upgrades on existing fighters and instead began designing a whole new aircraft from scratch. Promising results in early trials has led to a limited pre-production run of the new AVF-35 Wildhog Advanced Fighter, which was designed specifically to rectify perceived short-comings in the older transforming mecha.
Despite newer fighters like the Wildhog currently being rushed into Fleet service, a lack of available aircraft and the escalating war with the Solinoid Fleet means that the VGF-14 will likely remain in UN Fleet service for years to come!

VGF-14 D Wildcat ETO Booster (for Poser)
Early in the Solinoid Conflict, while the UN was still building its Naval forces, there were very limited ways to combat the enemy outside the atmosphere. In an attempt to solve this issue, the UN announced a design competition for an Orbital Launcher compatible with the new VGF-14 coming in to Fleet service. In order for the proposed Booster to enter service quickly, project requirements specified that it be designed with currently available parts. Also required of the competition was that the new system be relatively light weight, and capable of ground mobility for use in front-line units.
Created by Genero Rocket Systems, the new Earth-to-Orbit Booster pack attaches to the VGF-14 along the legs and main fuselage. It has large rocket lifting engines, with gimbal mounted steering and maneuvering of the exhaust nozzles, and contains a set of Dracovaine Mini-Missiles for orbital combat defense. It can be launched from any standard facility rocket pad, or carried and launched from specially designed Mobile Launch Tracks, a large tracked Armored Vehicle with an ETO launch system attached, for forward operations.
There is how-ever a down side... In it`s preliminary form the booster could not be jettisoned from the aircraft, and needed special facilities for mounting and dismounting the system. Later variants are able to jettison, but still leave the VGF-14 trapped in its jet mode while equipped, a flaw that has been mostly corrected in later ETO systems for the Advanced Variable Fighter program.
The Genero Booster System has found new life in specially equipped long range recon units to provide additional range for the VGF-14 in deep space operations, paired with the YF-35 ELINT and AVF-35 fighters at orbital outposts. It also remains in use in secondary rolls such as ferry flights (to get VGF-14`s into orbit for rendezvous with ships) and as a secondary defense line of Earth Orbit to intercept incoming enemy vessels.
Here are some of the highlights: * Over 20 Points of Articulation on the figure!
* Moving parts include: Firing Missiles, Pose-able Maneuvering Thrusters, Pose-able Booster Pod, Pose-able External Fuel Tank, Smart-Parented fully rigged component parts, and Pose-able Back-Pack that can be posed independently of the aircraft
* Separate Smart-Parented and fully rigged figure!
* Independent ERC controls on each figure component for complete control of most vital functions from 1 location. ERC`s include control of all moving parts and special "Jettison" features to separate the Armor from the aircraft.
* Independent ERC controls for each Moving part including Missiles, Booster, Fuel Tank, and Thrusters. ERC Dials can be found on the "Booster” body part of the figure for ease of use!
* ERC weapons controls for launching and steer-able missiles and ordinance.
* Fit-to Poses for the Gun-pod and Chaff Pod to allow for proper fitting with the added parts.
* Special Pose Preset to prepare the Aircraft Mode to have the ETO Set attached (you will need to apply this pose preset before loading the ETO Booster).
VGF-14 D Wildcat LEO Boosters (for Poser)
Designed to enhance the VGF-14`s Low Orbit Combat capability, the Earth Avionics LEO Booster System is made up of 5 sections. The main Booster Pack contains large Maneuvering Thrusters, Fuel Tanks and a set of 6 Missiles (to enhance the basic payload of the Wildcat). The Arms of the VGF-14 gain additional Armoured Plating, and the Leg Pods each contain additional Maneuvering Thrusters and fuel, as well as providing added armour protection for the vulnerable engines of the aircraft.
The whole system provides excellent space maneuvering capability in Near-Earth Orbit, and enhances both the payload and survive-ability of the Wildcat. The system is also designed not to interfere with Mode-Transformation of the Fighter, and can be jettisoned when damaged to allow the fighter to escape the area unharmed.
Though generally only equipped to the Elite S-Type VGF`s used by Ace Squadron Commanders and Wing Leaders, the LEO Booster System can be mounted on any of the VGF-14 variants!
Here are some of the highlights: *Over 20 Points of Articulation on the various LEO components!
*Special Pose Preset to prepare the Aircraft Mode to have the LEO Set attached. This special pose needs to be applied before loading the LEO optional parts so that everything looks correct once the extras are added.
*Separate Smart-Parented and fully rigged figures in 5 fully pose-able sections (Back-Pack, 2 Arms, and 2 Legs).
*Moving parts include: Firing Missiles, Pose-able Maneuvering Thrusters, Pose-able Booster Pods, Smart-Parented fully rigged component parts, and Pose-able Back-Pack, Arm and Leg Pods that can be posed independently of the aircraft.
*Independent ERC controls on the each figure component for complete control of most vital functions from 1 location. ERC`s include control of all moving parts and special "Jettison" features to separate the armour from the aircraft.
*Independent ERC controls for each Moving part including Missiles, Boosters and Thrusters.
*ERC weapons controls for launching and steer-able missiles and ordinance.

VGF-14 D Wildcat Weapons (for Poser)
The wreck of an alien spacecraft and the discovery of the Solinoid threat in the early 90`s led to the formation the Unified Military under United Nations control. After analyzing the Solinoid wreck, the UN announced a request for a new fighter combining alien technology with existing aircraft designs.
Despite receiving numerous updates to avionics and systems, the VGF-14 is incapable of mounting new weapons like the AVF-35`s Swarm Missiles or Heavy Reactive weapons. The Wildcat is how-ever, able to mount most standard weapons systems for the UN Fleet as well as older weapons like the MK-82 Laser-guided Bomb (standard to many National Defense and Air Guards units), and is well-rounded for both the Air/Fleet Defense and Ground Support roles.
Included in this set: 1 set of conforming MK-82 Laser-Guided Bombs, fully pose-able and with numerous ERC Dials for complete weapons control.
1 set of MK-35 Multi-Missile Pods, fully pose-able and with numerous ERC Dials for complete weapons control.
1 set of conforming Mixed Anti-Air Weapons set (MK-135 Wyvern Missiles and MK-35 Multi-Missile Pods), fully pose-able and with numerous ERC Dials for complete weapons control.
1 set of conforming Mixed Ground Support Weapons (MK-82 Laser-guided Bombs and MK-35 Multi-Missile Pods), fully pose-able and with numerous ERC Dials for complete weapons control.
1 conforming MK-82 Laser Designation Pod to go with the MK-82 Bomb and Mixed Ground Support Weapons loads.
All items in this set are fully conforming to the VGF-14 Wildcat VGF, and include numerous ERC Dials on the main "Body" location of each weapon set for ease of use!
VGF-14 Wildcat HCA-00 Reactive Armour (for Poser)
Numerous attempts have been made to upgrade the aging VGF-14 to provide higher weapons capacity and increase mission survivability and adaptability. The first such attempt was the Genero Systems Orbital Booster System, followed by the LEO Packs Armouring System. These attempts would also lead to the failed VGF-X program and the subsequent development of the Advanced Variable Geometry Fighter Program.
A further attempt was developed in the form of Reactive Armour, a system of armour pods and plates that could be mounted on the Wildcat, and jettisoned when the armour became depleted or was no longer necessary. Containing over 30 Dracovaine Mini-Missiles in twin shoulder pods (the same missiles used in the ETO Booster System and LEO Pods), the HCA-00 Reactive Armour would allow much improved survivability, at the cost of limiting the Wildcat to its Mecha Mode while equipped.
The armour can be jettisoned if it sustains severe combat damage or when its fuel and ammunition are expended, allowing the VGF-14 to resume its full transformation capacity. The armour also includes enhanced protection for vital areas of the Mech, covering the Body, Leg Engine Pods, Arms and Cockpit providing better all-round protection for the Pilot and vulnerable components.
A production prototype, the HCA-00 Armour System is mostly reserved for use on the ground when heavy combat is to be expected (although it has seen some use in space as well). Deployed only in limited numbers, the HCA-00 System was considered successful and has become the basis for advanced versions developed for the Advanced Variable Fighter program under UN JSOC supervision.
Features: * Over 100 Points of Articulation on the main figure! * Moving parts include: Cockpit Pod Cover, Missile Hatches and Missiles, separate Armour Sections, Booster Pods and more! * Separate Conforming Figure Weapons and Ordinance, with fully controllable ordinance deployment. (Some sold as separate packs). Armour parts include Torso, Arms, and Legs. * Numerous Independent ERC controls on the main figure for complete control of most vital functions from 1 location. Dials include Missile Hatches (Open both or each separately), Missile Firing, Canopy Pod (open/close), Thigh Booster Pods (swivel, steer and tilt), and to Jettison the Armour on the ground or in space! * ERC Dials to jettison the armour on the ground (drops the armour from the Mech to the Ground Plane in your scene) or in space (causes the armour to separate and tumble away from the Mech as though weightless). * ERC weapons controls to launch the missiles as a single volley, or as separate volleys from each pod. * Pose Preset to prep the VGF-14 to have the HCA-00 Armour fitted (this pose can be found in your "Poses" library in the folder labelled "Mecha Mode Poses").
VGF-14 Wildcat VGF-X Add-On (for Poser)
In an effort to provide a heavier weapons load and better protection for the Wildcat, Earth Avionics began working on a heavily modified variant. Intended to augment the basic VGF-14D with internal Mini-Missile Pods, enhanced Heavy Thrust Engines and longer range, the VGF-X project quickly overloaded the original design limits of the air-frame.
Instead of continuing to develop the VGF-X as an Armour Pack, Earth Avionics shifted focus to incorporate the planned features into a new aircraft, the YF-35 Warthog, for continued testing. The new design proved worthy of further development, and the AVF-35 Wildhog has been accepted for advanced Combat Trials and a limited pre-production run.
Though abandoned as a project of its own, there are a number of experimental VGF-X examples still stored at various testing facilities awaiting final disposition and scrapping. Perhaps an enterprising Pilot could find a use for the remaining experimental parts!
Here are some of the highlights:
*Over 50 Points of Articulation on the main figure!
*Moving parts include:Back-Pack, Missile Pods, Mini-missiles (30 total), Tail-fins, Rudders, Deploy-able Emergency Drag Chute, Arrestor Hook, and more!
*Separate Conforming Torso Missile Pack with pose-able parts including Mini-Missiles. This Missile Pod shares mapping with the base VGF-14 Figure and can use any Mat Pose made for the base texture set!
*Separate Smart-parented Arm and Leg Pods with rigging to be fully pose-able figures that can accept pz2 poses and materials. These share common mapping with the VGF-14 LEO Booster Set and can accept any textures made for this set!
*Independent ERC controls on the various parts for complete control of most vital functions from 1 location.
* Numerous Action Pose Presets for Aircraft Mode configuration specifically set up to pose the aircraft with the VGF-X parts attached.
*Includes a pose preset to prepare the VGF-14 to have the packs added (This also hides the back-pack on the main figure so that the new torso parts will display properly)! Find it in your Poses library in "Chris`s Mechs > VGF-14 Wildcat > VGF-X Aircraft Poses", and it is labeled "VGF-X Fit Pose". You will need to apply the preset before you load and conform the parts for the VGF-X add-on set!
*Fit-to Poses for the Gun-pod and Chaff Pod in Aircraft Mode to accommodate the extra parts.
Specifically UV Mapped to accept all optional texture mat poses for the parent VGF-14 Wildcat figure!
*NOTE! In Poser you will need to use the ERC dials for transformation on the "Body" of the VGF-X Back-Pack to match those found on the parent VGF-14 Wildcat to fully transform the VGF-X add-on pack for each mode.
